Get the boat to our shop
The first step in having your pontoon welded/repaired is to get the boat to our shop. There are 3 options to accomplish this.
-

Trailer your boat to APW’s Sunrise Beach workshop. - Option 2: Meet at the Access Ramp.

An APW representative can take it directly from your dock to the Sunrise Beach workshop after pre-arranging key location and security concerns. ($360)
- Option 1: Meet on land.
Inspection
Once we have the boat we can perform an inspection. Pontoon inspection consists of pressure testing along with visual scrutiny. First side skirts and under skin must be removed to expose the top of the pontoon. Then we pressure test the entire pontoon. We make notes and take pictures of any damage/problems that we find. After that we create a quotation for the requisite repairs. And finally, we send the customer the quote and pictures. The whole process takes many hours.
Once the inspection is complete, we will know your boat and its problems. At this point I can provide an accurate timeline for completing the work. If you approve the quote that we provide, then your inspection is free. If you do not approve the quote, then you must pay for the inspection.
Questions and Answers
After you have received your quote and pictures you will probably have questions and/or concerns. At this point we can go over everything together and we can address any questions that you may have. We can also provide advice if need be. If you have filed an insurance claim, we can deal with your insurance company directly.
Perform the work
Once the quote has been approved, we will put your boat on our welding schedule. We will perform all of the work that we have agreed upon. When the work is completed, we will let you know and then we can make arrangements to give the boat back to you.
Return the boat home
Now that the work is complete, we will transfer the boat back to you. If you have dropped it off, then you can pick it up. If you would like us to deliver it, then that is what we will do. This is always your choice.
